Lakeshore Records will release
THE POLKA KING soundtrack album in early 2018. But don't celebrate yet as the
album WON'T include even a tiny bit of the score and consists entirely
of various songs and polka classics re-recorded for the movie. You can
watch the trailer above and check out the movie on Netflix, which will
release it on January 12th.
In other news: CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS score has been nominated for an Annie Award in Music in
an Animated Feature Production cathegory. The winners of the awards will be
announced at the 45th annual ceremony on February 3, 2018, at UCLA’s Royce
Hall, in Los Angeles, CA.
Theodore Shapiro will reunite with
director Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer's Body, The Invitation)
scoring her upcoming thriller DESTROYER. Nicole Kidman will portray
an LAPD detective who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a
cult-like gang in the California desert. When the leader of that
gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through
the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally
reckon with the demons that destroyed her past. Kusama will be
directing from an original screenplay written by Phil Hay and Matt
Manfredi. DESTROYER will be produced by Fred Berger for
Automatik Entertainment and is expected to be released in 2018.
