on a piece for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra is
doing a series called "Masters Of Film Music", in which over
two seasons they will do six concerts highlighting the work of
a different film composer. The first half of the concert will
be a newly commissioned work, and the second half will be a
retrospective of music I've written for various films. The
other composers involved are George Fenton, Michael Giacchino,
James Newton Howard, Harry Gregson Williams, and Sir Anthony
Hopkins, who hasn't scored films but who does
compose."

PROJECT: THE BIG YEAR

David Frankel will get original score from Theodore Shapiro
who already started working on his music. The project marks
third collaboration between the director and the composer
following highly successful THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and MARLEY & ME. THE BIG YEAR features
impressive cast including Owen Wilson, Steve Martin, Jack
Black, Angelica Huston, Rashida Jones, Brian Dennehy, Diane
West, Rosamund Pike and many others. The film is based on the
book by Mark Obmascik, which tells the story of three avid
bird watchers who compete to spot the rarest birds in North
America at a prestigious annual event. The film is currently
in early post-production and probably won't be released until
the end of the year - no specific release date has been set so
