The movie is getting positive reviews all around including recently announced nominations for SAG awards for both leads Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren who also received their Golden Globe nominations today. November 20th, 2015: NEW PROJECT: CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE Theodore Shapiro will reunite with director Rawson Marshall Thurber and will provide the score for his upcoming comedy CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE, which he will co-score in collaboration with Ludwig Goransson. The three has already met working on WE'RE THE MILLERS. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Amy Ryan and Aaron Paul. The movie follows a former high school sports star-turned-accountant who is contacted by a classmate who was bullied and humiliated as a teen but is now a CIA contract killer and lures him into a world of espionage. CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE will be released on June 17, 2016 by Warner Bros. September 24th, 2015: NEW PROJECT: GHOSTBUSTERS Theodore Shapiro is set to compose the music for the upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS reboot. The film is directed by Paul Feig and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Andy Garcia, Matt Walsh, Michael K. Williams and Chris Hemsworth. The cast of the original Ghostbusters, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will also be appearing in the new version. Ghostbusters is set to be released on July 22, 2016 by Sony Pictures. September 14th, 2015: ALBUMS: THE INTERN and TRUMBO WaterTower will release soundtrack album for the upcoming THE INTERN on September 18th. The album features original score as well as brief selection of songs included in the movie - featuring Ray Charles, Gene Kelly, Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday & more. Tracklist has been added to the project page available through Filmography. Samples coming soon too. UPDATE: Soundtrack album is now available as Amazon's CD-R on demand. In the meantime Lakeshore Records has also announced TRUMBO soundtrack album. The album is currently planned to be released on November 6th and is already available to pre-order on Amazon.   August 30th, 2015: TRAILER: ZOOLANDER No. 2 First teaser trailer for upcoming ZOOLANDER 2 has been released and while it doesn't include anything from the actual movie it is still so funny that deserves to be posted. The film will be released by Paramount Pictures on February 12th, 2016. July 12th, 2015: LIMITED 7-INCH RECORD: WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER Shortly before WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER returns in the form of brand new series, starring Janeane Garofalo, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Rudd, the selection from 2001 film's original score will be released as an EP featuring 2 tracks composed by Theodore Shapiro and Craig Wedren, who is also scoring the series, which will debut on July 31st on Netflix. Shapiro (3:43) SIDE B: "Wet Hot American Summer" by Craig Wedren (2:22) May 20th, 2015: THE INTERN and INFINITELY POLAR BEAR albums New trailer for THE INTERN has been released and also reveals that the soundtrack album will be released on WaterTower Records. So far it is way too early to tell if the album will feature just songs or it will offer the original score too. The movie will be released by Warner Bros. on September 25th. In the meantime Lakeshore has announced release date for INFINITELY POLAR BEAR CD, which will be available on June 30th. More info coming soon. April 13th, 2015: ALBUM: SPY New trailer for the upcoming action comedy SPY was released recently and also reveals that the soundtrack album will be available on Milan Records. The label will release both original score and various artists albums so be careful what you are ordering. The score album will be released on June 2nd. The movie opens in theatres worldwide in early June and for more details about the album and the score check out the project page. You can also listen to brand new interview with Theodore Shapiro discussing the approach and working on the score on Milan Records' Soundcloud page.   April 8th, 2015: SESSIONS PHOTOS: TRUMBO Theodore Shapiro began recording his score for upcoming TRUMBO at The Eastwood Scoring Stage, Warner Bros today. Here is the first few photos from the sessions by Armen Ksajikian who described the score as "beautifully transparent". The photo features Trumpets: Dan Fornero (1st), Barry Perkins, Dan Rosenboom and Trombones: Alex Iles (1st), Steve Holtman, Phil Keen. TRUMBO will be released on November 6th by Bleecker Street Media. Click on the images to display them in full resolution in new windows.    April 8th, 2015: NEW PROJECT: ZOOLANDER No. 2 Theodore Shapiro is set to reunite with Ben Stiller on the upcoming comedy sequel ZOOLANDER 2. The film stars Stiller himself in the title role, Owen Wilson who returns as Hansel, Will Ferrell as Mugatu, Christine Taylor as Matilda, as well as new addition Penélope Cruz. Stiller has written the screenplay with Justin Theroux. ZOOLANDER 2 is currently in production and will be released on February 12, 2016 by Paramount Pictures. April 8th, 2015: ALBUM : INFINITELY POLAR BEAR Lakeshore Records will release the various artists soundtrack to INFINITELY POLAR BEAR, the new film starring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana. The soundtrack will feature 4 score tracks composed by Theodore Shapiro as well as music by various artists curated by Randall Poster, music supervisor on hit movies such as Boyhood and Grand Budapest Hotel. Written and directed by Maya Forbes, Infinitely Polar Bear is produced by J.J. Abrams and Mark Ruffalo and will open in theaters on June 19 via Sony Pictures Classics. February 17th, 2015: NEW PROJECT: THE INVITATION Theodore Shapiro is reteaming with director Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer's Body) on the upcoming thriller THE INVITATION. The movie stars Logan Marshall-Green, Tammy Blanchard, Michiel Huisman, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Lindsay Burdge, John Carroll Lynch, Mike Doyle and Jay Larson. The film follows a haunted man attending a dinner party who becomes gripped with paranoia that his ex-wife and her new husband are harboring an insidious agenda. THE INVITATION is set to premiere next month at the South by Southwest Film Festival. Check out the trailer, which also features the bits from the score.
