But don't celebrate yet as the album WON'T include even a tiny bit of the score and consists entirely of various songs and polka classics re-recorded for the movie. You can watch the trailer above and check out the movie on Netflix, which will release it on January 12th. December 17th, 2017: Annie nomination for CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS score has been nominated for an Annie Award in Music in an Animated Feature Production cathegory. The winners of the awards will be announced at the 45th annual ceremony on February 3, 2018, at UCLA's Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, CA. October 31nd, 2017: NEW PROJECT: DESTROYER Theodore Shapiro will reunite with director Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer's Body, The Invitation) scoring her upcoming thriller DESTROYER. Nicole Kidman will portray an LAPD detective who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past. Kusama will be directing from an original screenplay written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. DESTROYER will be produced by Fred Berger for Automatik Entertainment and is expected to be released in 2018. October 31st, 2017: HMMA nomination for CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS Theodore Shapiro was nominated for Hollywood Music in Media Award for CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS in the Best Original Score: Animated Film category. August 22nd, 2017: NEW PROJECT: A SIMPLE FAVOR Theodore Shapiro will continue his collaboration with Paul Feig (Spy, Ghostbusters) on director's first foray into crime thriller genre with A SIMPLE FAVOR, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Based on the novel by Darcey Bell, the film tells the story of a mommy blogger living in a small town who discovers her best friend has vanished. Lionsgate is expected to release the film, which began its production last week in Toronto, in 2018.   June 14th, 2017: DODGEBALL REUNION CHARITY VIDEO Theodore Shapiro has composed the original music for a charity video, which features Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Justin Long and Christine Taylor reprising their roles from the 2004 comedy hit Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, which the composer also scored. The short, which co-stars Missi Pyle, Jamal Duff and Brandon Molale is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber who helmed the original feature and promotes a charity dodgeball event. Donations benefit The Stiller Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children around the world by providing educational opportunities to help them realize their full potential. May 12th, 2017: ALBUM: CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS Virgin Records and Capitol will release soundtrack album for upcoming animated comedy CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE on June 2nd. The soundrack album is currently available to pre-order from Amazon and besides three cues from Theodore Shapiro (total time little under 15 minutes) as well as a couple of songs co-composer by Mr. Shapiro and performed by "Weird Al" Jankovic, Adam Lambert, Kevin Hart and Ed Helms. In the meantime SNATCHED was just released in theatres worldwide and the coverage of the recording sessions has been posted by Scoring Sessions.
